I am from a Burgundy wine growing family and so naturally was attracted from a young age to good quality products and to cheese above all! I began by working on the family wine estate but my passion for cheese took over. Through meeting artisan cheese makers, tastings, discussion and travel, I trained in caseology (the study and knowledge of cheese). I have been living in Paris since 2013 and am a trainer for the French cheese maker federation. I share my passion and expertise about this product which is so delicious and symbolic of France!

The activity takes place in the heart of the Marais in a 17th century maturing cellar.
During this introductory caseology session, you will taste 7 high-quality cheeses accompanied by bread, fruit and 2 wines.

Caseology is to cheese what oenology is to wine! Cheese maturing, the ancient manufacturing methods and the art of tasting them will hold no more secrets for you after the enjoyable time we spend together!

Useful Information

Minimum age: 15 years.
No alcohol for minors.
Location not accessible for the disabled.
At 11:00 and 16:30, the activity will be done in English.

Please note that I need a minimum of 2 participants to be able to run the activity at the indicated price. Should I not have enough people signed up for the activity, I will suggest another date or you can be fully reimbursed.

Après un accès par la belle boutique de fromags près du marché des enfants rouges à Paris, on rentre dans le contexte du fromager qui nous fait découvrir les entrailles où se cachent les secrets de l'affinage...vient ensuite le temps de la découverte et de la dégustation qui ravivent les palais ! Pierre est prévenant, sympathique et plein d'humour ! Atelier à recommander

Notre atelier était dirigé par Romain. Tout s’est très bien passé. Nous avons appris beaucoup de choses concernant différentes variétés de fromage, leurs méthodes de fabrication et la question de l’accord vin/fromage ! Ambiance conviviale, échanges intéressants et instructifs, vins et fromages délicieux !
